The earlier your child visits the dentist the better, as prevention is better than cure. The Australian Dental Association (ADA) recommends it’s time for a dental check-up shortly after their first tooth comes through or by their 1st birthday, whichever comes first.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is an Australian Government program that provides access to up to $1000 in general dental services for eligible children, over two consecutive calendar years. You don’t need to register your child for the CDBS. Families will be advised by the Department of Human Services if they are eligible, alternatively you can check their eligibility by visiting your Medicare Online account or through your MyGov portal.
To be eligible for the CDBS, a child must be:
aged between 2-17 years
their family must receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment.
All of our friendly dentists have a keen interest in sport and recognise the need to protect your child’s teeth from dental trauma on the sporting field. We provide custom-made mouthguards to fit your child’s teeth precisely, thereby minimising the risk of injury to the teeth.
Fissure sealants are an excellent way to prevent plaque and bacteria from trapping in the grooves of your child’s teeth. This simple procedure involves painting the grooves of the tooth with our restorative material.
