Our dentists and oral health therapists are passionate about educating our patients on their oral health, we will discuss all things teeth and gums with you to ensure your smile is at its brightest.
We clean your teeth with our state-of-the art ultrasonic scaler, which uses vibration and water to dislodge the tartar from your teeth. This prevents bacteria from penetrating your gums and causing bone loss around your teeth.
Tooth Extractions
Occasionally a tooth will require extraction due to dental disease, trauma or crowding. Although we prefer to maintain as many teeth in your mouth as possible, all of our dentists are very competent at both primary and permanent tooth extractions.
Wisdom Teeth
It is important to monitor your wisdom teeth with panoramic x-rays to ensure that they are not erupting incorrectly and causing damage to the adjacent tooth. Our on-site OPG machine enables us to take immediate panoramic x-rays that allow us to diagnose whether your wisdom teeth require removal.
Fillings help to restore your damaged teeth to their normal shape and function. Your dentist will first remove the decay from inside your tooth. Depending on the damage to your tooth, there are several types of fillings.
Common signs you may need a filling include:
Root Canal therapy (RCT) is a procedure used to save teeth that would otherwise be lost to injury or disease. The procedure involves removing the nerve of the tooth, disinfecting and filling the root canal. It generally takes multiple visits to complete, and at each visit it is necessary to take x-rays to check treatment progress.
All our dentists have a keen interest in sport and recognise the need to protect your teeth from dental trauma on the sporting field. We provide custom-made mouthguards to fit your teeth precisely, thereby minimising the risk of injury.
Obstructive Sleep Apnoea occurs during sleep when some of your muscles in the airway and throat relax, causing you to stop breathing for short periods of time. We want to assist you to get the rest your body deserves at night, to rest and refresh. We offer sleep apnoea appliances that are designed to help treat your sleep apnoea or similar sleeping conditions. These devices are worn in the night to hold your jaw in a forward position to keep airways open, allowing you to breathe normally.
An Occlusal splint (also called a night guard) is a custom molded hard plastic appliance that fits over the upper teeth. It is designed to protect natural teeth, crowns and implants from wear and cracking from clenching and grinding habits [Bruxism] and relieve muscle tension and painful joint symptoms.
Bruxism is an excessive clenching or grinding of the teeth that is not a part of normal chewing movements. It can lead to excessive wear on the teeth and may cause permanent damage to the teeth and the jaw joints.
The splint is custom made on models of your teeth and is designed to establish a perfectly even bite and prevent individual tooth wear and also reduce destructive forces on the jaw joint, ligaments and cartilage.
